Gns3 C7200 Slots
Currently GNS3 adds a C7200-IO-FE adapter to slot 0 be default. I'd also like the option to add a PA-GE adapter to individual slots in specific 7200 router nodes on the workspace. The interface labels should then show the correct interface ie g1/0, g2/0 etc. The pre-2.0 version of GNS3 allowed one to do this.
- I'm doing a lab for my internetworking course and I'm using GNS3 as the emulator. I can configure single FastEthernet interfaces on each router but I need to have two per router. I am using the c7200 image and router. This is my attempt to configure the router. Routerenable Router#conf t Enter configuration commands, one per line.
- C7200 SERIES# 7200s have a different architecture. Only the 7206 is supported, it has 6 Port Adapters (PA) slots. VXR chassis, NPE-400 and C7200-IO-FE are the default settings in GNS3. IOS 15 (Mainline)# This router series is still getting new IOS 15.x versions.

Gns3 support different router images directly, some of them are need to be uncompressed before using it in gns3 while for some devices you are required the virtual machines of those images like IOU. You can also emulate the juniper router and IOU image using their VM images in gns3. Even you can run the Cisco XR images with gns3 that work with virtualBox, VMware and with KVM.
There are some Cisco 15.x IOS images which are support by gns3 as well. But currently 15.x images are only supported by the Cisco 7200 series in GNS3. List of compatible images from 7200 series is as under:
