Problem Gambling Foundation Wellington
Problem Gambling Foundation. Healthy communities free from gambling harm. The Problem Gambling Foundation of New Zealand (PGF) is a national non-profit organisation predominantly funded by the Ministry of Health with funds received from the gambling levy. The Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation is here to support people affected by gambling harm, including family and friends. We take a public health approach to our work, which means we focus on prevention, early intervention and support for those who are particularly vulnerable to gambling harm as well as those living in regional and rural communities. Moreover, in the most extreme cases, compulsive gambling illness can even lead to suicide. This is why the State, through the bill dated n. 5), provides for levels ofassistance, with reference to prevention, treatment and rehabilitation services for people affected by gambling addiction.
The Problem Gambling Foundation of New Zealand (PGF) mission is to build healthy communities together, free from gambling harm. They offer free and confidential counselling to the gambler, their families and those affected by problem gambling. PGF’s Asian Family Services provide professional counselling and advice in Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean, Vietnamese and Thai, and Mapu Maia is PGF’s Pacific unit, providing a dedicated, culturally appropriate service for Pasifika.
